The blood of the London victims is on the hands of Anglo-American imperialism

 The Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist) declares its sympathies with those who were wounded or died in the bombings in London on 7 July and extends condolences to the bereaved families.
We do this just as sincerely as we do to the bereaved families of the 100,000 plus victims of the British and US terror in Iraq, and hope that the British working class may begin to understand a little of the nightmare that the Iraqi people have lived through since the invasion and occupation of their country by our imperialist rulers.
End the occupation Victory to the resistance
We call for redoubled efforts on the part of the British working class to end the illegal occupation of Iraq and the thievery of the Iraqi people's wealth by US and British imperialism - the looting of Iraqi oil and wholesale privatisation into foreign hands of Iraqi industries and services.
This means refusing to cooperate in any way with the British war machine - be it serving in the forces, making weapons, transporting equipment or putting out propaganda. Individually, we may be powerless, but collectively, the British working class has the ultimate veto over the war - they cannot fight it without us.
We must also give our full support to the Iraqi resistance, since only a defeat for Anglo-American imperialism will put an end to its aggression in the Middle East.
Imperialism the real terrorist
Imperialism is the real terrorist; the real extremist; the real bloodthirsty murderer that will stop at nothing to achieve its aim of domination for maximisation of profit. Its representatives drop indiscriminate cluster bombs all over the world without a qualm, leaving a trail of death and devastation in their wake.
In the last decade alone, the innocent people of Yugoslavia, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan and Iraq have seen their housing estates, television stations, roads, bridges, railway stations and even refugee columns bombed by British and US planes.
An acknowledged tactic of the self-proclaimed fighters for 'civilisation' is to bomb civilian areas and then come back 10 minutes later in order to bomb emergency workers as they rescue injured or trapped civilians. Hospitals, ambulances, fire stations and schools have all been targeted by these bringers of 'freedom' and 'democracy'.
Yet how much air time does our monopolist press give to the plight of the hundreds of thousands of killed and wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan? How many of them are telling their stories when we turn on the TV each night?
Repression and racism
Oppression breeds resistance. Characterising this resistance as something foreign and irrational is what enables the ruling class to push through draconian 'anti-terror' legislation, but the real target of these powers is the British people, whose own worsening situation is bound to lead to resistance sooner or later.
Racism is a tool by which our ruling class keeps us divided and weak - divided from each other and divided from our brothers and sisters across the globe who are struggling for freedom and independence. It is one of the secrets of working class impotence and a major enemy in the struggle for socialism.
Imperialist hypocrisy and doubletalk
On 19 March 2003, when Anglo-American imperialism unleashed 300 cruise missiles on Baghdad, George Bush and his cohorts described it as "shock and awe" and Tony Blair called it an "act of humanity". It ill becomes these imperialist criminals to start characterising the London bombings as the "brutal" and "evil" acts of "extremists" who want to "impose their will" on others.
Ordinary British people are now paying the price of the criminal policies of the British and American imperialist governments; this is the long-expected and inevitable comeback from British and US global terrorism.
The ruling class is already trying to use the London bombings as an excuse to pump out ever more hysterically racist propaganda. No doubt they will try to rush through their ID cards scheme and further repressive measures, all in the name of the 'safety of the British people'.
Shoot to kill
The state's 'concern' for the welfare of ordinary people was dramatically disproved when, on 22 July, 27-year-old Jean Charles de Menezes was murdered on the London underground because he had dark skin, wore a heavy coat and ran from armed men in plain clothes.
This very public execution has been characterised as a 'tragic mistake' by bourgeois apologists, but in fact it demonstrated quite clearly the logical result of the racist propaganda that saturates Britain's media - anyone with a dark skin is 'other'; an irrational, extremist, uncivilised enemy. In such an atmosphere, Mr de Menezes is unlikely to be the last victim of the current 'shoot to kill' policy.
No peace while imperialism lives
The British working class should know that there is no safety or security to be had at the hands of our imperialist rulers, whose fanatical pursuit of superprofits creates more enemies every day. The only way we will win a world that is not tormented by crisis, poverty and war is by overthrowing the decadent, parasitic, bloodthirsty system of imperialism.
In replacing it with socialism, we will not simply end war and poverty, but finally build a world in which humanity can begin to unlock its great potential and life can start to become truly civilised and meaningful.
Death to imperialism!
